Annagh is one of the most remote spots on Achill Island, Co Mayo, in the west of Ireland. Accessible only on foot over rocky hills, or else via boat, Annagh is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs. The lake at Annagh is called Lough Nakeeroge East and is the lowest corrie lake in Ireland at just 16m above sea level. In front of it the strand is mainly rocky but a small beach (visible in this picture) is revealed at low tide.
