Singer James Kilbane is a native of Achill Island and is an active member of Achill Tourism. Coming from a small Achill fishing village, James has become a polished and highly respected performer, writer, recording artist and music producer at home and abroad. James is widely known for his ability to sing many music styles from Gospel and Country to his native Irish music. James Kilbane first came to national attention in Ireland during his involvement in 2003 in the Irish television show You're A Star. Since then his career has continued to grow at home and abroad.
To date James has recorded seven successful albums. His work has led to him collaborating with some of the cream of songwriters and musicians internationally. In recent years he has become one of the best selling independent artists in Ireland and this has established him as a household name for his Gospel and other music styles. With this, in recent years, James in his work has become involvement in diverse music projects from Nashville, Tennessee to the United Nations in New York to Ephesus in Turkey.
In James's media exposure that has brought him, his music and his Achill roots to hundreds of millions of viewers around the world following his guest appearances on terrestrial and satellite television networks including EWTN and the Gospel Channel. All this is combined with his album recordings being also included on radio station play-lists in America, Europe and Australia.
James has always appreciated the qualities of his home roots and influences that he has inherited in his strong Achill upbringing. James continues to win and earn the respect of his public though his hard work performances and recordings.
