Keem Bay, Achill Island, Co. Mayo, Ireland

Keem Bay on Achill Island, Co Mayo, is one of the most westerly points in Ireland. The Bay contains a beautiful sandy Blue Flag beach sheltered between Moyteoge Head and the Benmore cliffs to the west, and Croaghaun mountain on the landward side. On the top of Moyteoge (198m), visible in this picture, is the remains of a coastguard watch-house. Extending north-westwards from this point are the cliffs of Benmore.
