This book follows in the footsteps of Heinrich Böll's famous journey across Ireland to Achill Island, documented in his 1957 classic 'Irish Journal'. The author of this new book visits the same places that Böll travelled to over 50 years ago and offers biographical information and local details along with contemporary photographs and images from Böll's time in Ireland in the 1950s.
